Hannah

This is Hannah. I have known her for quite some time and I have seen her blossom into such a beautiful young lady. This is the second time she has been my model and I must say she has definitely grown in confidence.
I had promised her a photoshoot months ago, but I had such a busy schedule so we kept postponing it. So this photoshoot ended up being my last one in Indonesia. The last time I would scout for locations and the last time I would take pictures at my school.
My love for photography started in Indonesia and was encouraged by one of my friends that agreed to be my model. Angela was such a lovely model and truly inspired me to create magic.
I started taking pictures at my school with a little dinky camera and it wasn't until years later that I was trusted with a proper camera. I had to prove that I was serious about photography and I learned that it isn't all about the equipment you use.
In my 9th grade year I found my first photography buddy Stefanie. She taught me everything she knew about editing which was super helpful, because I didn't know anything.
After Angela left I had a bit of trouble finding models and even more trouble finding motivation. I had run out of locations and ideas. Inspiration came and went and I didn't take pictures too often.
This year of 2016 has actually been the peak of my photography adventures. For starters, my best friend is a professional model and she was willing to do all my random ideas. She got painted on, had to lie down in random forests, and much more. Thank you Catherine.
I also found a great photography buddy Elysea. We have the same style of photography so it was so easy to collaborate. She helped keep me inspired plus she was a great model.

The next three pictures are my first attempt in some conceptual levitation pictures. Thanks Hannah for helping me with this even though it felt and looked a bit ridiculous at the time.

My last photoshoot in Indonesia was a success.

Sparkle

One of the first conversations I ever had with Elysea was about smoke bombs. We both really wanted to use them in a photoshoot, but it is quite difficult to get them where we live. She got her hands on some sparklers though and so we shot with those instead.

I am in my last full week of High School. Even these few days have been a rollercoaster of excitement, stress, adventure, and oh so many frustrations.
I am leaving the place I have called my home for nine years. With this new change coming up my spirit gets more and more adventurous and daring. I have been trying new things and throwing myself in to making the most of my last few weeks.
On Saturday my friend took me on a drive. I sat on the back of his motorcycle and we chased the rainclouds. We drove up to the mountains and got completely soaked, and then the sun came out to keep us warm. We passed rice fields and mountains with the sun casting a golden light on everything.
The Lord is truly a glorious creator and his creation glorifies him. The mountains, the fields, the sun was singing his praises and I couldn't help but sing along.
On Tuesday I spent the day packing everything in my room. When I told my friends I was packing the common reaction was to ask me if I was feeling emotional packing everything up. I love packing and reorganising, so I was honestly enjoying myself. I packed everything I own into a suitcase and two boxes. I am excited to have a new room and a new home and to decorate everything.
I have suffered from insomnia on and off for eleven years and in the past month it has hit me really hard. Recently it is the worst it has ever been and I have tried everything to make it go away, but nothing works. I am the kind of person that does not do well with under eight hours of sleep, so I have been fighting to stay energised and to not be irritable.
Psalm 73:21-26
When my heart was grieved

    and my spirit embittered,

I was senseless and ignorant;
    I was a brute beast before you.

Yet I am always with you;

    you hold me by my right hand.

You guide me with your counsel,
    and afterward you will take me into glory.

Whom have I in heaven but you?
    And earth has nothing I desire besides you.
My flesh and my heart may fail,
    but God is the strength of my heart
    and my portion forever.

Your Mind is a Galaxy

Catherine is a supermodel. Actually. And coincidentally she is my best friend which is convenient for me as a photographer. She let me paint all over her and was super chill as I spattered paint the paint on.
This was honestly such a fun shoot. All we used was paint, a blue backdrop, and a lamp. I had no idea how it was going to turn out but experimenting is part of the excitement.

 I am so thankful for Catherine's willingness to be my model and to go along with my random artistic urges.

This is my first attempt at levitation photography and it was pretty fun, but also quite challenging. We had to get two chairs to hold up her stomach and her legs, because you need abs to be able to do that pose on one stool. Anyways, I am looking forward to more experimenting in this area.

Flower Power

I often walked past this flower bush, blossoming seemingly at random   on a metal fence by a road, and thought to myself that it would be a good photography location. So when Elysea came to me and told me that she wanted to take pictures with this flower bush I was so excited that we had thought the same thing. This is what makes taking pictures with her so magical, we're always on the same page.
